About
Built by someone who's actually been a loan officer
George Chapin has been in the mortgage business since 1994 and in technology even longer. MLO Assistant is his project to bridge the two and help individual LOs get more out of AI without the learning curve.
The Person Behind the Project
MLO Assistant was put together by George Chapin. George studied information technology in school, which is a fancy way of saying he's been tinkering with computers and figuring out how to make them useful since before most people had email.
Then in 1994, his sister introduced him to the mortgage business. He started as a loan officer and quickly realized two things: first, helping people buy homes is genuinely rewarding work. Second, the industry had a lot of room for better tools and better marketing. That combination of IT background and hands-on mortgage experience stuck with him.
Over the years George has worked across technology and marketing, always with an eye on how the latest tools can help real people do their jobs better (and maybe get home at a reasonable hour). When AI tools started getting genuinely good, he noticed something: there were plenty of resources for tech companies and enterprise teams, but the individual loan officer was mostly left to figure it out alone.
So he started building MLO Assistant on nights and weekends. Not a startup, not a product launch. Just a project, one prompt and one article at a time, from someone who's actually sat in the LO chair and knows what the day-to-day looks like.
The goal is simple: take the AI tools and automation platforms that are actually useful, and package them so a mortgage professional can get value in a few minutes instead of spending a weekend on YouTube tutorials.
Why This Exists
There's plenty of AI talk in the mortgage world, but most of it is aimed at big lenders and enterprise platforms. That doesn't help the LO who just wants to write a better email, stay on top of follow-ups, or post something useful on social media without spending an hour on it.
MLO Assistant is here to fill that gap with practical stuff: ready-to-use AI prompts that generate real content, articles that explain which tools actually work, and guides you can put into practice this week.
Practical Stuff
Everything here is meant to be used, not studied. If it can't help your next workday, it probably doesn't belong on this site.
Built for Individual LOs
This isn't for big corporate teams. It's for the solo LO, the small branch, the person wearing every hat.
AI Saves You Time
AI isn't replacing loan officers. It handles the repetitive stuff so you can spend more time on relationships and closing loans.
Feedback Welcome
The best ideas come from LOs actually using these tools. If something is missing or could be better, George wants to hear about it.

- Step-by-step playbooks you can actually implement this week, not whitepapers you'll bookmark and forget about.
A Neobiz Ventures Project
MLO Assistant is a web property of Neobiz Ventures LLC, where George puts together projects that help working professionals get more out of technology. MLO Assistant is one of those projects.
If you're a loan officer who's thought "there has to be a better way to do some of this stuff," that's basically why this site exists.
Have an idea? Found a bug? Just want to say hey?
